33+33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity

Posted in Miscellaneous by Kurt on May 2, 2007

part 1part 2 by Steve Pavlina.

Not what I usually post here, but this is actually good, especially part 1. Part 2, well ok, read it and go back to part 1. Anyhow, clear rules without fancy words.

Some examples:

  • Rule 1 (part 1): Nuke it! The most efficient way to get through a task is to delete it. If it doesn’t need to be done, get it off your to do list. (sounds funny, but very true)
  • Rule 10 (part 1): Cone of silence. Take a laptop with no network or WiFi access, and go to a place where you can work flat out without distractions, such as a library, park, coffee house, or your own backyard. Leave your comm gadgets behind. (this one I do regularly since I was a student)
  • Rule 20 (part 2): Decaffeinate. Say no to drugs, suffer through the withdrawal period, and let your natural creative self re-emerge.(sorry – no deal – I love coffee!)
